DataChem (DCL) Policy: Deviations from approved protocols must be fully documented in the analyst notebook. Employees are obligated to note deviations and inform pertinent manager(s) of deviations. Once notification of deviation is given, the employee has fulfilled his/her responsibility. Managers must then, if required, resolve any problems concerning the deviation. If a line manager is not comfortable with deviations, it is the manager’s responsibility to inform other DCL authorities, using chain-of-command, until resolution is achieved.
